Welcome to E-Newspaper in Education
E-Newspaper in Education is a community literacy and learning program that partners businesses and individuals with local schools to provide newspapers to students and valuable resources like SOL-correlated activites to teachers.
Teachers participating in The Roanoke Times NIE program not only teach about newspapers, they teach with newspapers.
The newspaper is the most up-to-date textbook available, providing daily lessons in geography, math, science, social studies, language arts, and more. Utilizing generous sponsorships from local businesses and individuals, we can provide teachers at all levels - from kindergarden to adult education - with tools to not only advance their mission to successfully educate their students, but to moticate those students to connect with the world.

E-Newspaper in Education is:
Educational. Your E-Newspaper in Education subscription includes other free educational content, such as Online Lessons, Political Cartoons, and Educational Links.
Efficient. One order provides access to The Roanoke Times seven days a week and to every E-Newspaper in Education program for that semester.
Easy-to-Use. Search by keywords and project or print only what's applicable to your lesson plans. Once posted, most supplements and teacher guides are archived and available throughout the school year.
Edgy. The Roanoke Times e-Edition reaches students where they live-in an increasingly digital world.
